  1. So, Where are you from and where did you grow up?

Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Queens.

2. How was your high school experience?

Awesome! I had lots of friends, received an excellent education and had lots of fun!

3. When did you realize you wanted to become a teacher?

I never actually wanted to be a teacher! I wanted to be a scientist. I received a Bachelor’s in Chemistry and planned to do research. But I decided to start a family and I started teaching to have the schedule coincide with my children’s. Life is funny though, because I LOVE teaching. I feel like it is what I was meant to do. I feel blessed every day that I come to work.

4. If you could have any other job what would it be?

Research Scientist

5. Who is your biggest role model?

Marie Curie, she won 2 Nobel Prizes, one for Chemistry and one for Physics.

6.What are your hobbies?

Painting and reading.

7. What is rewarding about your job?

There are many things that are rewarding, but one of the best is when students contact me after they graduate and thank me for preparing them for college.

8. Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Hopefully retired and painting on the beach.

9. If you could live anywhere else, where?

Florida is pretty awesome but there are 2 places I would like, Colorado because of the beautiful mountain views or Hawaii.

10. What type of music do you listen to?

A variety… Latin, rock, folk, pop, but sorry no country.

11. Favorite 90s jam?

Smooth by Santana & Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20,

(but I’m really an 80’s girl)

12. If you could be in any musical or movie what would it be?

Probably Grease. I LOVED that movie when I was a kid! John Travolta was so cute back then.

13. What food is like a guilty pleasure to you?

Pizza, Yum

14. Where did you graduate college from?

UCF…Go Knights!

15. Star trek or Star Wars?

Definitely Trek. Each episode addressed social issues and philosophical and political ideas. It really did go where no one else had gone before.

16. Last book you read?

Fellowship of the Ring by JRR Tolkien. It’s probably the 4th time I’ve read it. (I started reading them when I was a kid, way before it was popular)

17. Who would play the lead in your movie?

Salma Hayak (I wish)

18. Super power?

I can usually tell when people are lying to me.

19. What kind of people do you dislike?

Liars and hypocrites

21. Describe yourself in 3 words.

Strong, hard-working, generous.

22. Worst fear?

Heights! Yikes

23. How long have you been a teacher for?

15 years

24. Any advice to students of Lake Nona?

Work hard and you can accomplish whatever you put your mind to!
