With encouragement and determination, Lake Nona High School (LNHS) varsity volleyball team defeated Tohopekaliga 3-0, the game took place in Kissimmee, Fla. on Oct. 15, 2020. In addition to the outstanding performance of the entire team, Nyah Molina won the Player of the Match for that game. Furthermore, the varsity volleyball team won 3-0 against Windermere on Oct. 28, 2020. With the continuing dedication of the team, it earned Yulianna Amador the Player of the Match. Finally, there was an immense pressure on the players during the game against Osceola because that game would determine their place in the States Championship semifinal. However, with all the tension that they were enduring the LNHS varsity volleyball team destroyed Osceola 3-0 on Oct. 31, 2020. Additionally, Jexsamarie’s magnificent performance made her win the Player of the Match for this crucial game.
Moreover, the dynamic that the LNHS varsity volleyball team has is indescribable. The players always want to give their best on the field and the coach guides them diligently to achieve their goals. In addition, the varsity volleyball coach, Jake Penaloza, described more about the energy of the team. At first, he stated that he had been a coach for eight years. He also explained that he experienced many difficulties while coaching the players during this pandemic, but the most challenging were time constraints between games. And finally when asked about what goals he wants his players to accomplish in the future Jake Penaloza declared, “I want the players to become the very best versions of themselves”.
